About Heartsaver Training for Childcare Providers

Heartsaver Training courses are part of the American Heart Association’s nationally recognized training program for individuals with little to no medical background. Designed to meet the needs of childcare providers, early educators, and daycare staff, Heartsaver CPR, AED, and First Aid courses focus on real-world emergency skills. These trainings help your team respond to medical incidents involving infants and children, and are widely accepted for state licensing, OSHA compliance, and staff certification requirements in North Carolina, Virginia, and nationwide.

Heartsaver Pediatric CPR, AED & First Aid

This is the most recommended certification for early education and daycare personnel. It focuses specifically on the care of infants and young children, teaching CPR techniques, how to use an AED, relieve choking, and respond to injuries like bleeding, allergic reactions, and burns.

This course is ideal for caregivers, teachers, and aides who are responsible for children ages 0–8, and meets most state-mandated childcare CPR requirements.

Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens

An excellent add-on course for childcare staff who may be exposed to blood or other bodily fluids. Teaches safe practices, proper cleanup, and how to protect against potential exposure. Helps support OSHA compliance for childcare centers and preschools.

(All certifications are good for two years)

Heartsaver CPR, AED & First Aid (General Adult / Child / Infant)

Great for programs that care for children across multiple age groups, or when you need a more comprehensive workplace certification.

Includes CPR and AED skills for adults, children, and infants, plus First Aid topics like asthma, wounds, and diabetic emergencies. Recognized by licensing agencies, school districts, and early education organizations.
