Who BLS Training Is For
BLS training is intended for individuals who work in healthcare or professional rescue roles and are required to perform CPR and related life-saving skills as part of their job.

What BLS Courses Cover
BLS courses emphasize high-quality CPR and team-based response in accordance with current resuscitation guidelines. Training may include:

- Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

Certification & Validity
Upon successful completion, participants receive an official BLS for Healthcare Providers certification card, valid for two years.
BLS certification is widely accepted by hospitals, healthcare systems, educational programs, and professional licensing bodies.
Course Materials
All participants in American Heart Association courses are required to have access to the official AHA course materials for their selected class. Materials may include a textbook, digital eBook, or online component, and are required for certification.
Course materials can be purchased through CPR Consultants or via the American Heart Association, depending on the course.
